Sculptors Alliance, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit artists’ cooperative founded in 1980, provides a forum for dialogue, mutual support, and the appreciation of sculpture through group exhibitions and educational programs.
Our community of sculptors is formed by artists who sculpt in all media, through the classical handling of clay, mold preparation and bronze pouring, using today’s most innovative tools and techniques for giving form to metal and stone, and even recycling, upcycling and beyond.
Since its formation, the Sculptors Alliance has enjoyed an active exhibition history at a variety of galleries and alternative spaces in and around New York City. The members of the Sculptors Alliance include accomplished, professional artists as well as emerging artists from the metropolitan area. Members’ works have won numerous awards and are included in private and public collections throughout the United States, South America and Europe.
Our program includes an in-person juried exhibition every year open to everyone sculptor (from beginner to experienced) to participate, where artists will be selected by a jury committee, the curator(s), and/or a guest juror.
“Sculpture restored my love of being alive, creating art has healed my wounds.”
Ilse Kahani (Stone Carver - Sculptor)
Our Mission
Sculptors Alliance, Inc. is committed to developing and encouraging community interest in the field of fine arts, with an emphasis on sculpture. The organization is devoted to fostering creativity through the promotion of sculpture as an art form in a way that makes a sustained and lasting impact on the public. It seeks to provide information and instruction on the techniques and methodologies of sculptural art in order to stimulate expression of the community’s cultural status and heritage. Through exhibitions and presentation of works of sculpture, Sculptors Alliance offers a means by which the cultural identity of the community may be expressed; it showcases established and unknown, but promising, artists for the cultural enrichment of the community.
